Sarah's Track Schedule

(Click to see a larger version)
It you ever have a desire to come and see Sarah throw here is your chance!! ( I'm not in any of the cross country meets.... in case you are wondering.)

Annual Grimm Family Canyon Picnic!!

Once a year, we, The Grimm Family, go up the canyon for breakfast and board games on Labor Day. This year we all decided to join the McOmber family boating on Labor Day, so we decided to have a Canyon Dinner instead.

What is included?
Well first and foremost, Brad must win Settlers! A canyon breakfast (or dinner in this case) can not exist without victory by ME! So the question this year...? Did I... err... Brad win? Of course! Hee hee he...

Oh yeah... there's also, smores and hot dogs!

If you look closely at this picture... you'll notice that just about everyone's personality shows through... Woah... freaky...

(By the way, i got in a load of trouble writing this blog, because of the Settlers comments... Let the angry letters start flowing in!)

More Crazy Music

The World Passes By
I'm sure you've all damaged your ear drums by now with the buddy song... Well... damiumbo has once again published another bad recording of an unfinished song!
This one is called The World Passes By. There are two versions of it. One with just a piano that Brad wrote and recorded on his own. A second is a version that Nate wrote, it has piano and guitar the version can be found here:
(The lyrics were by me every time though...)
Which are:
The World Passes By
Searching
For Warmth
Beneath the ice

Gasping
For Breath
Just out of sight

There's sixty seconds left
It seems like a lifetime
Almost out of breath
I never started breathing

The world passes by
The world passes by
The world passes out of sight
The world passes by
The world... passes by.

Staring
At heat
Just out of reach

Knowing
Its air
I need to breathe

There's thirty seconds left
Yet it seems like a lifetime
Almost out of breath
I never started breathing

The world passes by
The world passes by
The world passes out of sight
The world passes by
The world... passes by.

Panic in my eyes
I can see
The world outside

Fear in my heart
I can’t breathe
The world passes by

Waiting
For hands
To save my life

Dreaming
Of fire
Feeling only ice

Twenty seconds left
It seems like a lifetime
Almost out of breath
I never started breathing

The world passes by
The world passes by
The world passes out of sight
The world passes by
The world... passes by.

Ten seconds left
Almost out of breath
The world passes by

Five seconds left
Almost out of breath
The world passes by

Yet I never started…

Lake Powell

Lake Powell
After waiting for so long (kind of like the wait that you get when your favorite movie is about to come out... except for the fact that nobody knew i was going to post this)... and many requests for such. I now have Lake Powell... powell... powell

Over my birthday (which... its Brad typing... :P) Sarah and I headed down to Lake Powell and afterwards jumped on over to Mount Carmel for a few days. The trip was definitely my style of trip. Lots of food, lots of water, lots of fun, and of course lots of relaxing.
Proceed with the picture roll.

Up... up...

And Away!
As you can see from the pictures (and also the video). Sarah's quite the skiier. Brad on the other hand only got up on Two Skiis and the Wakeboard (for a little bit). He also looks like he's going to fall every second that he's up. It's like watching a tipping building in the wind....

Sarah's Favorite thing to do at 5am.... Waterskiing
Brad's Favorite thing to do at 5am.... .... .... ....
Wait... i'm not so sure 5am exists...

Jumping off the top of the houseboat
(You should have seen the look on Sarah's face when i pretended to belly flop and went into a swan dive instead... Priceless...)

Hanging out behind the boat
It gets so hot in Lake Powell that you spend a lot of time just hanging out in the water...

There were a number of toys to play with... My favorite was a blowup jetski. That's right it was a kids toy that looked like a jetski and had a little fan on the bottom that propelled it. It also shot water from a cannon. After Matt successfully mounted it... we found that it was a much better toy for the adults... if you see what i mean!

The kids at lake powell!

Natalie was quite a little fish. Of all the kids she wanted to be in the water the most. And Enjoyed getting thrown from the back of the boat too. Talk about courage!

Now you may be wondering... where's the pictures of Brad. Well... i'm at the bottom of course!
Hee hee...

(Quite the flattering picture if i may say so myself...)
Diving off the top of the houseboat may have been my favorite thing to do. Although it may also be the reason i couldn't get up on the Slalom ski. Ugh... i still ach from some of those jumps.
Now for the moment you've been waiting for. After much work and long hours of deliberation. After fighting beasts and deserving medals. I have it... yes, that's right... video. I've placed the videos on my website since they were too big to be put on here.
(In order for this to work you'll have to right click->Save As... and save it somewhere on your computer. They're big, prepare to wait!)
Now for a few notes on what isn't shown here:
  1. Storms - It was quite stormy while we were down there. We have a waterfall created from a rock edge, which was pretty cool. But on our very first night our neighbors houseboat decided to break loose. We ended up digging holes in the rain, running down tents, and reancoring the entire thing... Woah...
  2. Injuries - On the first day, Brad pierced his had with a deep wound from digging holes... What a crazy boy. By the second day his foot got caught in the slalom handel and ripped all his skin of his foot. (Sarah only experienced minor injuries... mostly from taking care of Brad).
  3. Jet Skiis. Yay for jet skiis.
  4. Sarah and i took a few back roads to get to mount Carmel. Brad's car took a beating, and looked as if it went through the war. But its something Brad is definitely willing to do again.
  5. Brad is now speaking in 3rd person. He thinks it is cool and is going to proceed doing so for the rest of the day.

Enjoy!

More Honeymoon Pictures!

We got the film in our underwater cameras developed. In three of the four places we went we had wet activities... So there was quite the lack of pictures in that regard.
Here's the make-up pictures.

Haiti:

We did two excursions in Haiti, a land tour and kayaking. The kayaking was a blast. The people on the other hand looked so destitute and sad. There was one guy that tried to sell us something, but we didn't have any money on us. By the time we left, he looked like he was going to burst out into tears... Poor guy.

Jamaica:

In Jamaica we had the opportunity to climb a waterfall. What a cool experience. We also bought a video of it which came with Bob Marley music.

Grand Cayman:

In Grand Cayman we got to go snorkeling with the fishies. There was a sunken ship and a coral reef that we went to. Both were a lot of fun.
There were a ton of people at all the places, but it was good stuff!

The Wedding!!

The Wedding!!

Saturday Sarah and I looked in our mail and found... Pictures!! That's rght, so i went through and made a pass at the pictures and figured, it's share time!

(In no particular order, per laziness and apathy.)

This is at the temple! Yay! Taking advantage of new rights... Er... maybe i should consider them privelages.

Bryan! How dare you! That face is going to make Nate cry.

If this picture doesn't explain itself... you probably shouldn't look at it.

And for the winner of the person who downed the most chocolate in one night... Donovan!!

Cutting the cake

While Donovan may have one the quanitiy contest... Natatlie will later take the messiest contest. Have fun Nick and Jodi!

The plot of this story would have been much better explained if the pictures were in the order i wanted them to be. This is where i storm and cry and yell out loud.

Posing for the camera.

Here we have a visionary.

And here a sweet heart.

We all can see where Sarah got her beauty!

Yay! I love playing Squeeze the Bride. Me next, me next!!

Trivia: Did the groom jump or was he thrown from a car?

Yay for family pictures!

Guys... that's how it's done.

Sarah made me put it up! I swear it's not because i just wanted a super hot picture of myself on the web. She made me!

MMmmm... Sexy bride...

Oh my goodness... It's so... beautiful.

Family Picture.

Why... oh why did she make me hold the flowers?

First picture! Er... Last Picture that should've been the first picture!

I hope you enjoyed. And if you didn't, go back and look at them again. Repeat until enjoyment ensues.

The Buddy Song!

So... Sarah was gone teaching track practice. So we decided to have the band over to play some jams. We left a recorder out and played the buddy song!
It can be found here:
http://www.myspace.com/damiumbo

Who's playing what?
Ashley - On the drums for the first time ever in her life. (Not bad if i may say so myself.)
Bryan - On the bass and doing the lead vocals. Not to mention he makes up the weird lyrics on the spot.
Nate - Nate was in the middle of setting up his Guitar when we first started. He finally gets set up midway through the song (and sounds pretty good.) But... well... it took some tweaking.
Brad - That's me on the keyboard (probably the easiest song i've ever played.) And i'm also singing the backup vocals.

Have a looksee!

New Job!

Well I, (Brad) got a new job this last week and put my 2 weeks in at Sungard. I start on July 9th as a game developer. So for all those that thought my passion would die with time... all i can say is Neiner Neiner!

I'll be working at a Studio called Sensory Sweep:

From what i understand i will be working on an Xbox 360 title that is based around a cartoon coming out next summer that is supposed to be a big hit. Sarah and I are both super stoked about the job...

(And i'm making all the programmers here at Sungard jealous too :))

Honeymoon

Following suit of my older (and obviously more wiserer brother) i decided to blog it up as well. Except my blog will include me, who (while not as wisered) am definitely more sexy.

Sarah and I loved our Honeymoon. By far the hardest part was coming back... In fact coming back was so hard i quit my job (see next post!) So i thought i'd share the joy of the Caribbean with the world!

No better way to start than with a kiss!

This is the two of us in Haiti. It was a fun experience, but after going to the rest of the stops... We realized, Haiti is a poor and dirty place. The people there looked very destitute, and almost cried when we told them we didn't bring money with us (which we did bring to the rest of our stops.) Our guide was bitter about their destitution, and was a big believer of voodoo. He said he had a curse on him, and had to pay his Grandma every month for protection against bad spirits. Therefore... i hereby pronounce you all Cursed... for protection, please send a check to my home address monthly.

Jamaica:

Jamaica was Sarah's favorite place by far. We took a tour that explained the culture and environment of Jamaica. They taught us how to sing and how to dance Jamaica style. That's right, i've got the Bob Marley music hip bouncing skills now, so watch out! We also hiked the Dunn's River Falls. Pretty much we got to hike up a waterfall, it was pretty sweet. We have a DVD of the adventure, and some pictures, but... we have got them developed yet. Ya Man!!

Grand Cayman:

The Grand Cayman was a lot more touristy in my opinion. There were lots of people dressed as pirates. While there we went snorkeling at a sunken ship (the pictures haven't been developed yet.)

Mexico:

While in Mexico we went and saw the ruins. Talk about Hot! It was super humid and super hot. But it was a lot of fun. I loved Mexico... but let's face it, a little part of me is Mexican. It was fun to converse with the people, even if our Taxi driver did try to teach me dirty words in Mayan.

Last of all was the cruise ship. We did a number of things, including... A dodgeball tournament, Speed-wall (rock climbing) tournament, Minature golf, Lifesize checkers, Dancing, Music, Breakfast in Bed every Morning, Best dinners you'll ever have, Swimming, ect... ect... And of course eating, all the time anytime (includ soft serve ice cream). Maybe it was a good thing i sweated so much in Mexico.
